I Love June

I love June!  School is done for the year, and I feel a sense of accomplishment as I wrap up a few final details on my To-Do List at work. I renew my mental and physical energy with rest, reading, and puttering around the house. The days are warm and bright without being oppressively hot.  Next month you will find me hiding indoors from heat and humidity, but now I stroll through the yard and neighborhood daily.  The lawn is green and the flowers bright.  My spirits are lifted.  Best of all June brings the gift of time.  Time to tackle projects that have weighed heavily on my mind.  Time to hang out with people I love.  Ah, June, I am glad you are here.

  1. I also love June for all these reasons and others. June is filled with the promise of possibility, long days and nights ahead. Definitely a time for renewal.

  2. There is a definite lightening of spirit during the late spring and early summer month of June. The end of school signals a big exhale for you, I am sure (I remember). Enjoy the peaceful and happy days.

  3. Oh! Me too, me too. Glad school is out for you for a few months or R&R & time to regroup & renew. We all need that unplugging now and then. Enjoy!

    1. May can really wear a person out. I am moving at a more leisurely (maybe more reasonable) pace these days and taking time to smell the flowers (literally).

  4. And it's still light after 8:00 pm!

  5. I love June! Everything is lusciously green and the birds are singing and it's not usually TOO hot and humid, unless there are storms, but then, there's the magnificent clouds and the lightning. Then it becomes hot and sticky, and while better than freezing cold, still not my favorite.

    1. I hate the heat coupled with humidity. We did not have that in Western KS when I was growing up, and I have never grown used to it. Yuck!

  6. So glad it is June for you! I know just what you mean about loving this month. I wish school were out sooner for us (and I'd gladly go back in August, a month I don't like much because it is too dang hot and all the colors have faded), but we have two more weeks of school. Enjoy!

  7. June is associated with so many wonderful things, and you have summed it up beautifully in 10 sentences!
I keep forgetting to tell you how much I enjoy your splash of watercolors background for your blog.

    1. Thanks, Pat. I can't take any credit. It is a standard backdrop choice on blogger!

  8. What a lovely ode to June! Freedom to relax and engage in fun activities and lovely walks in the cooler hours of morning or early evening! Like you, I do not love the heat of day, especially here in hotter than heck Texas, but I do love the longer daylight hours, growing things, and even the thunderstorms that roll across the sky in the evenings. Wishing you a wonderful month to enjoy life and recharge your batteries for Fall! XOXO
