Some growth is self-evident. The light shines through and reveals the promise of the potential held within. This growth results from optimal circumstances. The sun shines, the soil nourishes, and the rain falls.
But growth can happen in the dark times too. Growth that occurs in our darkest hours increases compassion and changes our soul. Growth in the dark requires faith, and in time increases that very faith.
Eventually this growth will show itself when the light returns; and it can be the most beautiful growth of all.
Thank you, God, for the light and the rain; and thank you too for the darkness.
